David was born on November 2, 1962, in Woodstock, Illinois, to his loving parents, John Kevin and Barbara Ann Carey. Growing up in Woodstock, he excelled both academically and athletically. He was a dedicated student and a talented athlete, playing varsity football and baseball at Woodstock High School. David’s commitment to his education and sports laid the foundation for his future success.

Professional Career

After graduating from high school, David embarked on a journey that would shape his professional life. He spent three years working as an oil rig deck worker in Oklahoma, gaining valuable experience and a strong work ethic. Following this, he joined his father, John Carey, in the family construction company, where he honed his skills and contributed to the growth of the business.

David’s passion for aviation led him to pursue a career with United Airlines. He started as a ramp service associate and reservation consultant, eventually earning his airframe and powerplant license at Richard J. Daley College.
