I find the line, "Lana, how I hate those guys" particularly interesting. To me it suggests the idea that perhaps this girl was either sexually assaulted, or was convinced to have sex with a guy, and then he left her because he got what he wanted. I've seen this happen a lot to girls as I was growing up. I also agree with everyone else about the story behind the rest; wild and crazy teen experiences that got her sent to private school, and let her feeling like she's never had friends as close to her as they were. It's such an amazing song, well written, and a glimpse into what the teen years can be like for some girls.
